THE B DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 23/24 WAS WON BY NEXT LEVEL MOBILE WITH A 5-2 VICTORY OVER THE OLD RAILROAD STOP. KAITLIN NEWTON LED HER TEAM SCORING 3 GOALS IN THE VICTORY. A BIG SHOUTOUT TO OLD RAILROAD AS THIS WAS THEIR FIRST YEAR IN THE LEAGUE AND NOT ONLY PLAYED WELL THEY EXHIBITED A FUN AND ENJOYABLE ATTITUDE IN THEIR GAMES. CONGRATULATIONS LADIES !!
THE 2024/25 B DIVISION FLOOR HOCKEY SEASON WILL BE PLAYED ON TUESDAY & THURSDAY EVENINGS AT JAMES STRATH PUBLIC SCHOOL. ALL GAME TIMES WILL BE FROM 7PM TO 10:00PM
AS PER SCHOOL POLICIES ONLY PARTICIPANTS ARE ALLOWED ACCESS TO SCHOOL. NO CHILDREN OR SPECTORS ALLOWED !!
COVID POLICY - THESE ARE THE RECOMMENDATIONS FROM OUR LOCAL HEALTH UNIT REGARDING PERSONS CONTRACTING THE COVID VIRUS.
SELF ASSESSEMENT - IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF COVID - 19
STAY HOME AND SELF ISOLATE UNTIL ALL OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:
Your symptoms have been improving for 24 HOURS ( 48 HOURS if you had NAUSEA, VOMITING OR DIARRHEA )
YOU DO NOT HAVE A FEVER
YOU HAVE NOT DEVELOPED ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS

PETERBOROUGH & DISTRICT WOMENS FLOOR HOCKEY LEAGUE
PLAYOFF RULES
1) All teams must have paid team fees in full to participate in playoffs.
2) All players must have played in 6 games to qualify for playoffs, pregnancy, and reported injuries only exceptions.
3) If you wish to protest an ineligible player it must be done at start of game so referees can notify other team of the protest and either remove player from game or understand that if player found to be ineligible than team will lose game by forfeit.
4) Playoff format will consist of 7 teams in A, 10 teams in B & 9 in C Division. Teams seeded by regular season standings and are put into two groupings within their division. Each team will play a round robin format with the top teams from each grouping will advance to the Final Championship games. These two top teams will then play a single Championship game for their respective A,B & C Division Championships.
5) NO GAME CAN END IN A TIE. A 5 MINUTE SUDDEN VICTORY WILL FOLLOW AND IF STILL TIED , THEN A 3 PERSON SHOOTOUT WILL FOLLOW. IF STILL TIED THEN A SUDDEN DEATH SHOOTOUT WILL OCCUR TO DETERMINE WINNER. NO PLAYER CAN TAKE A SECOND SHOT UNTIL EVERYONE TAKES A FIRST SHOT. GOALIES ARE EXCEMPT FROM TAKING A SHOT BUT MAY DO SO IF THEY REQUEST TO. WINNING TEAM GETS 2 POINTS LOSING TEAM IN OVERTIME GETS 1 POINT.
6) TO DETERMINE TOP TEAMS TO ADVANCE WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE FOLLOWING FACTORS
1) Most total points 2) Record between the two teams in round robin play 3) Best Goals for / goals minus record 4) Best Goals for record 5) least penalized team
7) USE OF GOALIES IN THE PLAYOFFS. TEAMS MUST USE THEIR OWN GOALIES FOR PLAYOFFS . HOWEVER IF A SPARE GOALIE IS NEEDED THEN TEAM CAN USE A SPARE GOALIE AS LONG AS IT IS APPROVED BY THE LEAGUE CONVENOR ( DON RIDER ) TO ENSURE A TEAM IS NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF USING AN EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG GOAL KEEPER TO INFLUENCE THE OUTCOME OF THEIR GAME.
8) THIS IS A RECREATIONAL LEAGUE , THEREFORE ANY PLAYER(S) DISPLAYING OVERLY AGGRESSIVE PLAY AND / OR UNSPORTSMANLIKE PLAY WILL BE PENALIZED ACCORDING TO LEAGUE RULES.
9) ABUSIVE PLAY EITHER PHYSICALLY OR VERBALLY BY PLAYERS TO PLAYERS OR REFEREES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND SUCH PLAYERS WILL BE PENALIZED AS PER LEAGUE RULES WHICH MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSIONS. SOLUTION : PLAY FAIR, PLAY SAFE, PLAY WITH GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP.
